Report in the Walliser Boten of 10 February 2023 - FINMA authorisation for SZ Consulting AG

As in every area of life in Switzerland, individuals and companies that manage money from clients or accept money from investors, underwrite insurance policies or set up funds require a licence. These licences are issued by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) and, since 1 January 2023, every external asset manager has required a FINMA licence in order to continue their business. "Of the 2,500 external asset managers in total, only 641 have received a FINMA licence as of 6 February 2023," says Daniel Kalbermatter, Head of Client Advisory at SZ Consulting AG. "SZ Consulting AG received the licence in September 2022, as the 365th asset manager."

SZ Consulting AG received the FINMA licence for asset managers on 16 September 2022.

SZ Consulting AG, an independent asset manager based in Brig, has been granted a FINMA licence for asset managers in accordance with the Financial Institutions Act (FINIG) by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) as of 12 September 2022. Asset managers domiciled in Switzerland have to fulfil a number of personal, financial and organisational requirements in order to be allowed to operate as asset managers. FINMA has examined SZ Consulting AG's organisational structure and internal processes in detail. The result of FINMA's examination was very positive. The receipt of the FINMA licence ensures the continued existence of the successful company.

This milestone in the company's history pleases the board of directors and the management, especially the CEO, Matthias Fux: "The licensing procedure involved a relatively high level of effort. I am all the more pleased that SZ Consulting has received the licence.  We are among the first 15% of asset managers to receive the licence". Daniel Kalbermatter, Head of Client Advisory Services, adds: "Thanks to the FINMA licence, we can continue to provide our clients with personal and comprehensive advice and manage their assets in a professional and tailored manner.
